Week8- Summary of Final

For my entrepreneurship project, I introduced 3-D holographic images added to our current technologies. For this project, I wanted to describe about the concept of virtual holographic images shown with today’s technologies such as computers, mobile devices and etc. The main focus of this project was to how do the technology influenced my idea of 3-D holographic images to benefit us. 

Throughout this project with the technology, I was able to think and create 3-D holographic images evolved with our current technologies. Not only I was able to think about the holographic images to the technologies, I introduced holographic technologies as well to benefit us from current technology. One example was by using holographic storage system to create more data storage system to our today’s computer. Also with the technology with my idea about this project, I obtained knowledge of where to start building my idea of 3-D holographic images to current technologies. Moreover, with the technology, I was able to create more ideas with the holographic concept to our current technologies. Some of examples would be holographic software and as well as applying holographic images to our social media networks.

From this project, the technologies were like guideline in creating about my idea of 3-D holographic images. Technology gave me many options of ideas in creating my entrepreneurship project. Also I learned that technology could benefit our society with my idea of 3-D holographic images as well. And I hope in our future generation that 3-D holographic images would soon to be apply to the technologies.

Week7 Blog review post

I have been researching about the blogs that were related to my entrepreneurship idea about holographic images applied to our technologies. I found an interesting blog posted by “frosales” about the holograms with 3-D images for our future technologies. The blogger described that in our future, one could talk with another with images of 3-D holographic images of themselves in front of them with each other. The blogger stated that the 3-D holographic image technology is impossible in our lives like in the science-fiction movies (ex: Starwars); however it will be developed in near future.

The blogger posted in his/her blog about researchers from the University of Arizona are developing new holographic technology that could transfer images in 360 degree angle to another spot. One of the head researchers from University of Arizona stated that this improved technology of holographic would promote the current technology of 3-D images without showing third dimensions. The project that they are working to create holograms was by cameras taking pictures of an object in different angles and transferring data through the Ethernet line constantly which created the images of 3-D holographic images.

The blogger also posted that with this technology our society can benefit from it. One example is the manufactures of car and plane companies can use this technology to check the design of their future models as well as make essential changes to their models. Also it would benefit to communicate and cooperate with each other from different world with technology of holograms. What is interesting about this blog is that holographic devices through our technology are being developed by our society and these devices will be present near our future technologies.

Week6- Operating System

During past weeks, I have described ideas about holographic technologies that could be applied to our current technologies. I believe in order to come up with my ideas I said in past weeks, the major factor to come up with is the holographic operating system; because operating system is key factor to manage hardware and software resources. If the holographic operating system is introduced to our current technologies then people would actually try to come up with many ideas related to the holographic operating system in our computers, mobile phones and even other technologies that are existed in our lives.

In our society, technologies are improving year after another constantly. In my entrepreneurship project, the main key factor to build first is holographic operating system. The reasons are that first is to inform our society that holographic operating system really exists through operating system bases. Second reason is that with holographic operating system available, people can come up with many ideas to build software and apply to our current technologies with holographic operating system. One example might be if in year 2050, Window has introduced their operating system related to holographic operating system. This would eventually alert our society to build software based on the holographic operating system.

During our lecture, we also discussed about the digital colors. Digital colors play important aspect in creating clear images through the images we see in TV, computers, movies, camera, and etc. In my past blog, I came up with ideas of images shown in holographic 3-D images. Probably in order to see holographic images, I would need to build holographic digital images first in order to apply holographic 3-D images to our current technologies. Holographic 3-D images may produce better resolution and color basics then our technologies have. In producing holographic digital images would benefit our society to see more clear images through their technologies in home and work-environments.   

Week5- Bits and Bytes

This week, we learned about bits and bytes of the storage system. With idea of bits and bytes, I thought about building a holographic video and data storage system. With holographic video and data storage system, our society can benefit from such invention. With holographic video, sound and data storage system, it may store more data than today’s technology and release them faster rate.

With holographic video and data storage system, there are several ways that our society can benefit from. One example is our satellite of cable TV companies. Holographic video and data storage system might actually give better speed to retrieve data from the satellites to the consumers of watching TV. Such storage system can reduce loading time of TV satellites in ordering movie in demand from the cable TV companies. Also using holographic video and data storage, our network system may become faster. With speed of storing and retrieving the data with holographic storage system, it might can give better speed of loading images and sound through the Internet.

Not only holographic video and data storage system can be useful for the companies and consumers but also the creators in multimedia, video game and etc. The reason is that inventors such as video gaming creator use large amount of image data to build a game. With using holographic video and data storage system, it may give the creators reduce time it takes to pull up bulky images to their computers. In conclusion, if holographic video and data storage system were to introduced to our society, it can boost up the speed in our technologies.

Week4- Input and Output devices.

In past week, we have discussed about input and out devices that help people to visualize, hear and speak through our current technologies. Some of innovation ideas I thought of this week for my entrepreneurship project were virtual holographic designed keyboard (input) and graphic designs to view in virtual 3-D holographic through webcam like device connected to the computer (output). These ideas might help our society to produce design more efficiently as well as useful for home users and businesses.

For input device, I thought about holographic keyboard without needing any real keyboard for desktop and mobile devices. Apple introduced that in upcoming iphone 5 and future iphones and ipads, they are adding input device of virtual keyboard using light and shadows (Liu).  With virtual keyboard, it may be useful in a way for mobile devices such as phones to write down notes or sending texts to others. Also if virtual holographic keyboard were introduced in the desktop, it would create more space for the desks, less messy, and economically it would be better. So why would creating virtual keyboard be better economically? In computer manufactures do not need to spend money to create keyboards instead putting virtual keyboards to the computer and desk manufactures would not have to put option of keyboard desk pad to the desks. This may help them to save money without creating these options.

In talking about output device, I thought about webcam like device that create virtual holographic 3-D images to be shown with the lights. This device may help the graphic designers and architectures to create designs more efficiently. For example might be car designers create designs of cars through our technology of 3-D designs to shown to the computer. However if we are to see virtual images by using webcam like device, it would be more realistic, which can be helpful for the designers to create in efficient way.

Week3- Hardware and Storage

In this week, we learned about hardware and storage of the computer system. I came up with some ideas about how to make computer system faster in reading software and other functions in the computer. In past two weeks, I wrote about building the technology with 3-D holographic images. To maintain 3-D holographic images, it would need lots of memory and storage data to be available so that 3-D holographic images to run smoothly without any problems.  One idea I came up with was making CD/DVD type of disc drive that also run 3-D type of disc drive showing in holographic images. Other was making holographic memory and storage to the computer components to make computer run faster.

In making 3-D type of holographic images to be shown, I thought that the computer components should also change as well. I came up with idea that 3-D type of holographic disc drive should be built in the computer system. Our technology is developing better as time passes so we will eventually see that our graphic cards in the computer would get better than nowadays. In order to read the 3-D type of holographic discs, it may require lot of memory to transfer so I came up with idea that instead of having chips with the memory, holographic memory would give more memory than today’s technology.

I did some research about holographic memory and I found out that some researchers are using laser beam and crystals to make the computer holographic storage system (Bonsor). This example of technology would provide much more faster computer and in able to read the data fast enough to holographic images to be shown smoothly. If computer holographic storage system existed, we could replace hard disk drive system. Using holographic storage system may computer to run faster, store more data and computer to be lighter than before.

Week 2- Privacy and Spreadsheet essentials

Last week, I introduced the concept of 3-D holographic images added to our current technologies, which could be useful and this new concept of idea of 3-D holographic images on the technologies might evolve throughout our generation. This week, I will be talking about how we can enhance our privacy through today’s social media such as the internet and adding to feature to the spreadsheet with the 3-D holographic images.

I was thinking about adding a camera-like device to top of the laptop or behind the computer monitor just for holographic images to “pop up” so that there would be new features within the computer to view as 3-D holographic images or not. In concerning about the online privacy, I thought of an idea that creating software similar to anti-virus software; which gives warning signs of if someone is tracking you down from the internet website such as our popular social media “Facebook” or “Twitter” with the IP addresses recorded by the such program that I thought of. So if someone is visiting ones “Facebook” or “Twitter”, the software records the IP addresses. With this software, I came up with an idea that it automatically gives warning display in holographic images top of one’s notebook or back of computer monitor so that the display gives clear alert or bring one’s attention who they are tracking by. This concept of idea of software with the holographic warning images popping up may reduce one’s privacy being stolen by someone.

Microsoft excel spreadsheet is essential software for most of the companies and people in our contemporary world. You can analyze record and calculate data and even graph your data. With idea of adding camera-like device for holographic images to the notebook or computer monitors, this new concept of idea can benefit such software even more. I was thinking about adding new feature in Microsoft excel spreadsheet of “view as holography” in graph section of such software. This image of graph being view as holography may be useful for one giving presentation to others in our daily lives (colleges, companies, and etc).

Week 1- History of computing and social media.

For my entrepreneurship project, I like to introduce concept of 3-D holographic images added to our current technologies.  With holographic images included to our technologies, our entertainments such as gaming and watching movies would be more fun and interesting. Imagine that you can view images in 3-D in front of you, and control the images as you like in our real world!  Also using holographic images to the technologies, images may be useful sources for business and medical purposes.

In my opinion, putting together of 3-D holographic images to our current technologies would be hard to develop. However, in our first lecture on “computing history”, 3-D holographic images added to the technologies would likely to develop in our future. The reason is that our society is trying to develop better technologies to our lives and as time passes, we get to see improved technologies to our lives. For example might be TV and computers, which we can now see in 3-D images.

Using internet to connect to social media became common practice for our daily lives. In our social media such as “facebook”, we have webcams that each other can look each other and communicate with each other. If these images came out to be 3-D holographic images, it would be more realistic to communicate each other and useful for business purposes as well. Furthermore, using videos to advertise their products or companies through 3-D holographic images in social media might attract more people’s attentions.
